Parent’s Tips On Ooty, Tamilnadu, India With Kids
Last December we went on a tour to Ooty in Tamilnadu,India (or Udagamandalam, which is the Tamil version of the original name). My daughter was 3 years old. It is one of the best trips I’ve had with my dear angle. We stayed there for a week period.
My child enjoyed a lot in Ooty. She loved to go boating. One evening we all went to thebotanical garden. My daughter loved being there with Micky Mouse and Scooby-Dooby-Doo.
Ooty is a nice place to visit with our children.Other things to do in Ooty are to visit the lake or to go with the Nilgiri mountain railway, which is actually on the world heritage list. It’s called the “toy train” and runs on steam. Great fun!
There’s also the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, not too far away from Ooty. You can go on elephant rides there, and admission is free for children and very cheap for adults.
There are also the Kalhatty waterfalls, some mountain peaks, the Black Thunder theme park and other things to discover.
We definitely can recommend Ooty for a trip with kids. We will go back and go for the elephant rides when our daughter is a little bit older. 🙂
