Easy Baby Life baby care tips

Son Might Be Sick

My one year old has refused his formula for 3 days now. He is still on it because he is a preemie. He will drink juice. He also barely wants to eat and acts really needy compared to usual. Last time he refused formula he was sick with sore throat but I haven't noticed any other symptoms of him being sick this time. I am still concerned and plan on taking him to the doctor Monday but today I am looking here for any advice.

Baby Help Line Response:

Hi!

I'd think he is either teething or sick. Unless you see a white little dot sticking up within a day or so, you are probably doing completely the right thing to visit a doctor.

Good luck!

Your son might be suffering from an earache, teething pain, or a sore throat. I would get him to a doctor as soon as it is convenient. In the mean time, you should continue to give him juice and even offer popcicles to make sure he does not get dehydrated. Pay attention to make sure he does not suddenly develop a fever.
