Son Imitates Daddy
by Diane

When my son was about two years old he started noticing that his father put stuff in his hair. Maybe a little gel, or a little hair spray if we were going out.
One day Chris spotted a can of air freshener, and before I could stop him he sprayed it on his head. So since he was unharmed, and smiling so proudly, and he smelled so good we just put it where he could not get it again.
Then one day he found a box of baby enemas in his changing table. These are small tubes of glycerin with a squeeze ball on one end and a hole in the end of the tube. When I caught him there were 5 empty tubes, and he had the biggest smile, and the greasiest hair, I'd ever seen.
I tried shampoo several times, a little vinegar, even Dawn dish detergent. Nothing worked. I gave up and just used shampoo, and after about a week his beautiful blond hair started to look clean again.
He's 17 now, and has shaved off most of his hair. But when I see him in the bathroom getting ready to go out, without me, I still see that smiling little boy with the beautiful blond curls. I guess I'll always see him that way.
