Is My Baby Ok After Dropping A Pen On Fontanelle

I dropped quite a light pen on to the top of my baby's head by accident.he cried for a minute then was ok. It only slightly grazed the surface. He seems ok now and is feeding and sleeping ok. Just wondered if he will be ok?

Hi Rebecca,

It sounds like your baby is fine, he probably got a fright as much as anything. If the pen had pierced the skin then it could be more of a concern, or if it was something heavier that dropped. The fontanelle is actually a very tough membrane, so cannot easily be punctured. If you are concerned could take him to the doctor to check, but I would say if he is feeding normally and happy, is not showing signs of headaches etc, then I would doubt there is any cause for concern.
