I Survived, And So Will You!

I am a father of 3 daughters, all thankfully out of this stage now. Lucky for me, because each of them went through a stretch of about 4 months where they were colicky every night.

Our first daughter was the worst! The poor little girl would literally cry herself to sleep every night, having exhausted herself beyond the ability to cry anymore. At first, the store bought gas drops seemed to work for her and helped alleviate some of the pressure on her poor tummy.

Unfortunately these drops only seemed to work for about two weeks before they seemed to just become useless. After awhile, my wife and I were resigned to just having to hold her for hours each night while she cried it out. It was the hardest stretch of my life, in all honesty.

After she hit 6 months old, it was like someone just turned off a switch and suddenly she was all better. Both of our other daughters suffered their own bouts of colic but neither had the sustained level that our oldest did. Gas drops worked fine for both of them.

Just remember, no matter how bad it gets, it will end eventually!
