Delivering My Bouncing Big Ole Baby Boy
by Terry Muncy
(Moore, OK)
My son, Adam who is now 22 was an interesting delivery.
He was my first and only child. The doctor wanted to induce the labor one week early due to the Labor Day Weekend coming up.
We tried...it didn't work. So, yes....I labored and delivered on Labor Day. They induced that day as well.
Things were moving along fine until I felt pain and was only dilated to a 3. I asked for an epideral and they told me it was too early. I told them it wasn't and give me the epideral.
They cooperated and the anethesiologist came in to hook me up. It was a wonderful experience! Stadol, you gotta love it.
When I was dilated to a 10 and almost ready to deliver, they asked me if I was feeling that HUGE contraction and I should probably use my breathing techniques. I did, but it didn't matter because I still felt no pain.
They took me to delivery....and "TADA", out came an almost 9 lb. 22 1/2" long bouncing baby boy that looked up at me and cried when I held him.
Even though he is 22 years old now...I can still see his precious little face as he lay on my chest crying and we were looking eye to eye at each other.....both of us crying.
