Cold, Ear Infection, Throwing up , Itchy eyes

by Scarlett
(Canandaigua, NY)

My son had gotten over a cold, or so I thought. He seemed better but was pulling at his ears, so I took him to the doc and he had a small ear infection.

He has been on the antibiotics for 6 days and last night he threw up. Again this morning. Every time I feed him, no matter how much or little, something comes back. Whether formula, baby food etc. a little comes up. Tonight he is rubbing his eyes, and now they are red and poofy.

Gonna take him to the doc hopefully tomorrow but wondering... Is he just tired? Could he be having an allergic reaction to something?

Hello Scarlett,

This sounds like a bacterial infection or a virus which is why your doctor prescribed the antibiotics. The dr will probably give different antibiotics if the ones prescribed don't work. This could be an allergic reaction to the antibiotics themselves or your child could just need something stronger spread over a longer period of time it could also just be that he or she is tired. I am glad you are seeing your dr and I hope you and him can figure out what antibiotics and treatment are right for your child!

Hope this helps!

cover the ears

When your baby has cold, cover the ears with some soft cloth and put some ear drops with proper advice from the doctors and you may give some antibiotic to them to recover fast.
