Baby Threw Head Back Hard...

Hi, I was sitting in a computer chair and I was trying to pull myself into the desk...well my little one threw her head back really hard as I was scooting my chair forward...and I caught her...but now I'm worried she may have hurt herself...

It was partially in the middle of a feeding to which she threw everything up and then went to sleep. I'm worried she might have whiplash or something...should I be concerned??

Have her checked for head injury

Hi,

Poor baby! She is probably just fine, but both throwing up and being unusually sleepy are possible signs of concussion, so I definitely would advice you to have her checked by a doctor.

I realize that the vomiting could very well be related to her eating and that sleeping could be due to it simply being nap time, but better to be safe than sorry!

Also continue to look for signs of head injury, such as continuing to be unusually sleepy, weak, confused or vomiting more than usually.

There is a long thread here in the forum with parents discussing and sharing when their baby fell. Although it is not exactly the same situation, you may find some comfort and help in reading their comments. Find the discussion on babies that fell off the bed here.
