Baby Never Sits Still To Eat

Since my 10 months old baby learned to stand and walk he doesn't like to stay in his high chair when I'm feeding him, it is so difficult for me to keep him to stay while feeding. What should I do? Trying to force a baby or young toddler to sit still for longer periods is almost impossible. I guess they are so overwhelmed by their new abilities that they just have to practice them around the clock. Your baby is likely to need distraction to want to stay in his chair. Have you tried serving finger foods? You could also consider him letting him try to feed himself a little bit with another spoon. You'll need a big bib, but he might enjoy it enough to sit still for a while. Also consider buying a high chair with no support for the feet; that way it is harder for the baby to stand up. IKEA has cheap and good ones for example if you can find one of their stores. Finally, this is a period for many healthy snacks! Give your baby a piece of banana or similar to chew on while running around. Just make sure you only give foods that the baby can't choke on.
