Hi Amy, It sounds to me as if your baby has had some baby acne. This is normal and common and heals without treatment. Now, why your baby has dry skin on his face could either be normal shedding of skin that babies do when newborn or maybe dry air and/or cold air eczema. This is common during cold winter months ans treated with a lot of baby lotion and in severe cases mild hydrocortisone. The latter should however not be used without a valuation by a pediatrician. My suggestion is that you bring up the question at your son's next health checkup if that is at any time soon.
