Baby Crib Sleeping

by Joanne
(Canada)

When do you recommend putting your baby to sleep in the crib?

Baby Help Line Response:

Hi Joanne!

Actually, I'd recommend doing it right from the start unless your baby strongly objects to it (some do!). That doesn't mean I don't like co-sleeping, but even if you do co-sleep it is good if your baby learns to sleep in different places and feel comfortable and secure anyway.

If you mean when to transfer a baby from a cradle to a crib, it is definitely time when the baby grows too big to be comfortable or so big that there is a risk that he or she can move around enough to fall out.

Here you'll find some tips on how to make your baby want to sleep in the crib.

Hope this helps!

/Paula
