A Inn that Loves Babies
by Leslie
(Ithaca, NY)
We were recently touring the finger lakes region of central New York. It's lovely in the summer and we were spending two weeks driving and staying in small towns.
The trip was going well but we were missing our baby sitter, we felt like a little alone time during our vacation would be nice. I'm sure every parent knows what I mean.
We spent the night in a small town called Baldwinsville, in a quaint little Inn right in the middle of town. The Inn is a historic mill that has been renovated, it sits right on the river and the Erie Canal. It's named The Red Mill Inn. The staff there was very nice and I talked to the manager about the fact that I was missing my babysitter. She was quick to help me and got out her cell phone and dialed her own baby sitter.
The young lady came by so we could meet and we arraigned for her to stay with our daughter (8 months old) while we walked across the bridge to a very nice little restaurant for a romantic dinner.
Normally I would be a little hesitant to leave the baby with someone I did not know well, but the Inn was so baby friendly I knew it would be OK, And it was.
