Have An Easy Baby Life! Mom Tips 4 U!
October 04, 2007
Hi !

This month I've dedicated most of my work to YOU, not your baby. So what does that mean?

Well, I've added recipes for homemade facial masks and hair treatments.

You also get new tips on how to choose the right babysitter. I've answered questions in our new Baby Help Line and - finally - I just added a new service; Baby Stories.

Read more about all this and more in this month's issue of Have An Easy Baby Life. And have a great October!

How to Choose a Babysitter

When going back to work or even just to be able to go out for dinner once in a while with your spouse, a good babysitter is invaluable. Here you'll find tips on how to choose the right sitter.

Homemade Facial Masks

To feel better as a new mom, allocate some time to take care of yourself! A fun way to do this is to head for the kitchen and make a homemade facial mask. Here you'll find simple recipes to try.

Homemade Hair Treatments

Ok, so maybe your hair looked great while pregnant. After pregnancy many moms get really dull, boring hair, especially if you breastfeed. Make your own hair treatment just by using stuff that you have in your kitchen, and then head for the bathroom. Your baby can be there with you.

You'll find the hair treatment recipes here.

Baby Help Line - Mom Questions

Two of the questions answered at the Baby Help Line this months are Mom related:

Is hair dye bad for a breastfeeding mom?

My post pregnancy breasts - help!

To read the questions and answers (and add your own comments or questions if you like), go to Baby Help Line.

Baby Stories

I've added a new feature - Baby Stories. This is the place where you can share your experiences with other moms - the good, the bad and the funny. Any type of memorable moment during this first fantastic and chaotic year will do.

Let's have some fun together! Share your story at Baby Stories.

The first contribution was by Pauline. Read her story "Soaked in Breast Milk".

Our October Baby Poll

Our October baby Poll is of course a MOM Poll. The question is "What is like to be a new mom?

Vote in this month's MOM poll!

We also invite you to add your comment on this topic, by going to Baby Stories and sharing your experiences. Is the transition huge? What is easiest and hardest? How do you feel about being a Mom?

Easy Herb Chicken

Do you want to invite your friends for dinner? How about a very tasty chicken dish that you just put in the oven and there it takes care of itself? I love this recipe!

4-5 servings

  • 4-5 large, frozen chicken thighs
  • 2 table spoon olive oil for the pan
  • 0.5 lb (200 gr) zucchini in large pieces
  • 2 red onions in large pieces
  • 2 red bell peppers in large pieces
  • 2-3 carrots in large pieces
  • 4 potatoes in large pieces (optional)
  • 15 black olives
  • 7-8 peeled garlic cloves
  • almost 2 tea spoons salt
  • some freshly grinded black pepper
  • 1 table spoon dried thyme
  • 1-2 tea spoons dried rosemary
  • 0.9 -1.4 cups (2-3 dl) white wine
  • 2 table spoon olive oil
  • fresh rosemary for decoration (optional)

Do like this:

  • Heat the oven to 392 F (200C)
  • Smear a large ovenproof form with olive oil. Put the frozen chicken thighs in it together with all the vegetables.
  • Spread the olives, garlic cloves, salt, pepper and dried herbs over the chicken and vegetables. Add the wine and some olive oil.
  • Put in the oven for 50-60 minutes. Decorate with some fresh rosemary. Serve with a salad.

Shopping Tips

Since this is MOM month, so is this month’s shopping tip.

Have you ever tried the skin care products by DDF? If you haven't, and you want to give your skin some really good extra care, please do! Their products are not cheap, but the best I've ever tried. SkinStore has a large selection of DDF products (as well as other great brands) and with their 115% price guarantee and 30 days return policy you really can't go wrong.

Here you'll find SkinStore's selection of products by (amongst others) DDF Labs (Doctor's Dermatologic Formula).

That was all for now! And if there is anything you would like to tell me, feedback, comments requests... Just reply to this e-zine. I'd love to hear from you!

If you like this e-zine, please do a friend and me a big favor and "pay it forward."
