Hi,

Poor boy! Was he out discovering the world? At his age, babies tend to fall and hurt themselves all the time. Scary, but usually nothing dangerous. However, hitting the back of his head hard can be dangerous.

What one would generally watch out for is signs of concussion, such as loss of consciousness, being drowsy, dizzy, vomiting, irritable or bleeding from his nose, mouth or ears.

Also during the next couple of days, if he seems very sleepy, confused or starts vomiting it could be a sign of injury.

If any of this occurs, definitely take him to a doctor immediately. If he is his usual self, just a bit sore, then there's most likely nothing to worry about.

If you are at all worried, don't hesitate to contact his doctor.

Hope this helps,

Paula
